Japanese Groups Competing for New Philippine Airport in Bohol

A total of 5 Japanese groups competing for the award of USD110 million budget from a Philippine project for the building of new airport in the central island of the Philippines “Bohol”.

The old “Tagbilaran Airport” will be replaced by the new Bohol Airport in a comprehensive government project that includes everything from the construction of ground lighting, navigation equipment and design.


The contract is exclusively open only to Japanese majority owned venture or Japanese owned companies and no other. Funding will be done thru JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) a Facilitator of loans at a low cost in Asian nations.

The project is one among the many proposed government projects in order to address shortcomings of chronic structures in the Philippines.

Namely these are the 5 Japanese companies submitted their proposal to the bidding committee: Taisei-Jatco; Maeda-Toyo; Sumitomo Construction; Shimuzu and Chiyoda Joint Venture.
